Frequently Asked Questions
What is Passville?
Passville is a social planning platform where you post a real, time-bound plan — coffee, a trek, a movie, cricket, whatever — and other people nearby who are free can join. It's built for meeting people through activities, not for dating.
Is Passville free to use?
Yes. Creating an account, posting plans, and joining plans are all free.
How do I join a plan?
Open any live plan and tap "Request to join." The host approves or declines your request — you're not automatically in until they do. If the plan is already full, you can join the waitlist instead and you'll be approved automatically if a spot opens up.
Do I need to verify my email?
Yes. Verifying your email is required before you can create a plan, join a plan, or message anyone. It's a quick one-time step — check your inbox for the link right after signing up.
How long does a plan stay live?
You choose when you create it — anywhere from 1 hour up to a maximum of 30 days from the meet-up time. Once it expires, it disappears from the live feed automatically, but it stays visible in your own "your plans" history.
What is the Chat Room?
It's a live group chat open to every verified member — one shared space to talk and find people to plan something with, separate from any individual plan's own chat. Messages there are temporary and clear out automatically after a set window, so it always feels current.
What is a Trusted Stranger?
If you meet someone through a plan and want to stay in touch, you can send them a Trusted Stranger request. Once they accept, you can message each other directly on Passville any time — this is the only way direct messaging unlocks between two people.
Is Passville safe?
We take safety seriously but we're honest that no platform can fully vet who someone really is. Passville is 18+ only, requires email verification, and every user can block or report anyone at any time. Beyond that, the same common sense that applies to meeting any stranger still applies here: meet in public places and trust your judgment.
What happens if I report someone?
Your report is logged and reviewed. The person you report isn't automatically notified that you reported them.
Can I remove someone from a plan I'm hosting?
Yes. As the host, you can remove any approved member from your plan at any time from the plan page.
What cities does Passville work in?
Passville works anywhere in India (and beyond) — when you create a plan or set up your profile, you pick your state and city, and can filter plans by city on the Explore page.
Can I edit a plan after posting it?
Yes, if you're the host. You can edit the details, time, and duration of a live plan any time before it ends (duration is still capped at 72 hours).
