Privacy Policy

1. What we collect

When you create an account we collect your name, username, email address, password (stored as a one-way hash, never in plain text), date of birth, and gender, plus any profile details you choose to add such as bio, country, state, and city. Date of birth is used to verify you're 18 or older and to show your current age on your profile — we don't display your exact birthdate to anyone. Gender is set once at signup and cannot be changed afterward. When you use Passville we store the Plans you create or join, and the messages you send within Plan chats or to your Trusted Strangers.

2. How we use it

Your information is used only to operate Passville: to show you and other users relevant Plans, to let you communicate with people you've agreed to connect with, to send you account-related emails (like email verification), and to keep the platform safe (for example, reviewing reports of misconduct).

3. What we don't do

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share your account data with advertisers for their own independent use. Passville does not currently run third-party advertising — see Section 4 below for what changes if that starts.

4. Advertising & cookies

Passville may, now or in the future, display advertising through third-party ad networks such as Google AdSense. If and when ads are shown:

These networks may use cookies, device identifiers, or similar technologies in your browser to help serve ads, including ads based on your visits to this and other websites. This is standard behavior for third-party ad networks and is governed by that network's own privacy policy, not just this one — for Google specifically, see Google's advertising & partner sites policy. You can generally opt out of personalized advertising through Google Ads Settings or industry tools like aboutads.info.

Ad networks are shown content and browsing behavior on Passville to select and measure ads — they are not given your password, private messages, or Plan chat content.

5. Visibility to other users

Your name, username, city/state, and bio are visible on your public profile. Plans you host are visible to other users browsing the platform. Messages you send in a Plan chat are visible to other approved members of that Plan. Direct messages are visible only to you and the Trusted Stranger you're messaging.

6. Blocking and reporting

If you block another user, they can no longer see your plans, message you, or send you requests, and you're hidden from each other across the platform. Reports you submit are stored so they can be reviewed; the person you report is not automatically notified of the report itself.

7. Data retention

We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. If you'd like your account and associated data deleted, contact us using the address below.

8. Security

Passwords are hashed, not stored in readable form. Reasonable technical measures are used to protect your data, but no system is perfectly secure — please use a strong, unique password.

9. Age requirement

Passville is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

10. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated from time to time — including to reflect advertising partners once they're active; continued use of Passville after a change means you accept the updated policy.

11. Contact

Questions about this policy, or requests to access or delete your data, can be sent to contact@passville.in.
